FAQ's
How does bath resurfacing work?
Most of the time, we can resurface your bathtub in position, meaning the whole tub doesn't have to come out of place.
Bath repair and resurfacing typically involve several steps. First, the surface of the bath is thoroughly cleaned and any damaged areas are repaired, such as chips, cracks, or scratches. Then, a special coating or material is applied to the surface of the bath, often through spraying or rolling, to create a smooth and durable finish. This coating can be customized to match the colour and texture of the existing bath or to achieve a desired aesthetic.
Finally, the resurfaced bath is allowed to cure or dry properly before it can be used again. Overall, the process restores the appearance and functionality of the bath without the need for complete replacement.
What types of damage can be repaired?
Damage such as scuffs, small cracks and chips can all be repaired providing they're not too extensive. If the damage in question needs more than repair then we can quote for resurfacing or may suggest a total replacement. Sending pictures and videos can help for accurate quoting or if you're local to Plymouth a free home visit can be arranged.
How long does bath repairs and bath resurfacing take?
Time taken for repair will vary on the type of damage and the bathtub material but can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a whole day. Bath resurfacing typically takes one to two days to complete since the bathtub needs time to cure properly.
Should I repair, resurface or replace?
We're big advocates of repairing and resurfacing before getting rid of a perfectly good bathtub. Sometimes a bathtub just needs a bit of TLC and you'd be amazed at the results of resurfacing. You might think your bathtub is beyond repair but just get in touch and we might surprise you!
Can you match the colour of my bathtub?
Yes! We absolutely can match colour and texture of bathtubs so you don't have to worry about mismatch colours and patches.
Will the repairs or new surface be as durable as the orignal?
It absolutely will. We use the same material that the bath is made from to ensure all repairs and resurfacing work is as good as new. A resurface is actually a great way to breathe new life into your bathtub to add many more years of use.
How much does it all cost?
The big question! Small repairs start from £xxx and we'll quote for larger jobs. Resurfacing starts at £xxx but again we'll provide a quote for jobs that require extra work and attention.
